I’m running to represent you on the Modesto Irrigation District so I can work to keep your family’s electricity and water costs affordable. Let me scour the books and examine the underlying costs driving customers’ monthly rates.
As your Modesto City Councilmember, I gained experience with rate-based services such as water, sewer, and garbage and watched them closely to ensure rates contained only what was necessary to provide services. I served eight years on the Modesto/MID Water Policy Committee that oversaw the domestic water treatment plant. We know of the state’s attempts to take our local water. We should fight for every drop to protect our households, farms and businesses who rely on their investment in water for their livelihoods. Our water bills come from the city through a contract with MID. Our electricity bill comes from MID. We must keep both our water and power bills as low as possible. We need to fight to protect MID’s water and power because it, in fact, they both are ours. Cast your vote for me. I’ll always fight for your family. |
